The Today co-host is mourning the devastating loss of her husband, Uche Ojeh, after a private cancer battle.
Uche passed away following a long battle with glioblastoma — an aggressive and often fatal brain cancer.
“Sheinelle, we love you.” Her co-hosts shared the heartbreaking update live on air on May 23.
Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, and Al Roker paid tribute to Uche’s legacy and love for family.
“Thank you for all your love and support ❤️” — her only words, shared with a video of the tribute.
“He loved those kids more than anything.” Uche leaves behind three children: Kayin, Clara, and Uche.
They met at Northwestern University when Sheinelle was a freshman — and never looked back.
Uche proposed in the middle of a rainstorm on the campus where it all began. They married in 2007.
Her co-hosts described him as “joyful,” “strong,” and the man who brought Sheinelle’s world to life
Sheinelle had quietly taken leave in January, revealing only that she was facing a personal crisis.
“Sheinelle, you are our family,” Carson Daly said, holding back tears. “We are here for you.”
