How did actor and professional surfer Tamayo Perry die, know in detail

Professional surfer and lifeguard Tamayo Perry died Sunday off the coast of Oahu.

Perry, who was also an actor and stuntman, was attacked Sunday afternoon while surfing at Malaikahana Beach on Oahu's North Shore

Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokeswoman Shayne Enright said at a news conference that Perry was brought to shore by jet ski and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Perry is survived by his wife, Emilia Perry, with whom he ran a surf academy for more than 20 years.

In addition to his expertise on the water, Perry also made his mark in Hollywood, landing roles in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise and “Hawaii Five-O.”

Perry was 49 years old at this time. But he was still fit and healthy

Kurt Lazer, acting chief of the Ocean Safety Department, described Perry as a world-class surfer and “everyone’s beloved lifeguard.”

Following news of Perry's death, tributes to the Hawaii-born Perry poured in on social media.

This shark attack was so fast that Perry did not even get a chance to recover.

The shark swallowed Perry very quickly and the surrounding water turned red with blood.
