Why was rapper Travis Scott arrested in Miami?

The American rapper was detained by police at the Miami Beach Marina at around 01:45 am local time on Thursday.

The police department's arrest report states officers were called to a report of a fight between people on a boat.

Police were called to a report of a disturbance on a yacht and found Travis Scott yelling at people on the yacht.

Officers say they spoke to the rapper and "observed a strong odor of alcohol" on his breath.

Police asked him to get off the boat, but he "went back and began using abusive language to the people on board".

Scott then left the scene, but five minutes later officers observed him returning and attempting to walk toward the boat.

When he was told not to do so, he "disobeyed officers' orders" and engaged in "erratic behavior," shouting and disturbing local residents.

After the arrest, the accused admitted that he was drunk

"Mr Scott was detained for a period of time due to a misunderstanding," his legal representative, Bradford Cohen, said in a statement on Thursday.

There was no physical altercation, and we thank the authorities for the quick and amicable resolution.

Travis Scott is a 10-time Grammy Award nominee and one of the biggest hip-hop artists in the world.
