Bobby Bones (born Bobby Estell) is an American radio as well as a television personality, well known for hosting the nationally syndicated The Bobby Bones Show.

It originated at KISS-FM in Austin, TX, and for his position as a full-time mentor on American Idol on ABC.

Bobby Bones was the winner of season 27 of great Dancing with the Stars with a partner named Sharna Burgess. Bobby Bones has also written two great New York Times bestsellers books.

Early life as well as education

Bobby Bones was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on April 2,  in the year 1980, and raised in the small community of Mountain Pine, Arkansas. He has said his mother became pregnant with him at age of just 1when his father was 17 years old.

He was raised by his mother as well as his maternal grandmother. His biological father was with him until he was 5 years old but then he left the family. Bones started dreaming of a radio career around the age of 5 years. His mother died at age of just 49 after battling addiction problems in the year 2014.

Bobby Bones started his radio career at age of just 17 at the campus station of Henderson State University, KSWH-FM The Pulse. While still in college, Bobby Bones went to work as a station hand at KLAZ which is in Hot Springs, Arkansas but was put on the air after a few days of being hired.

A manager then gave him the choice of either going on the air as Bobby Z or Bobby Bones which he chose the latter.

Bones’ first full-time radio contract paid him around $17,000. In the year 2002, Bones was hired by Q100/KQAR in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He then worked for the radio station (KLAL), which led to his hosting of The Bobby Bones Show on KHFI-FM in Austin, Texas.

As per The Washington Post, Bobby Bones is different from typical radio named DJs, as he doesn’t have the classic as well as booming radio DJ voice.

Bobby Bones was originally hired for the evening shift on KHFI-FM as well as was soon shifted to mornings. While in Austin, he met two of his future co-hosts, Lunchbox in a bar as well as Amy.

Bones believed in Amy and put her in the air immediately. His executive producer at the time, named Alayna Messer, was earlier an intern on the show.

In the year 2012, Clear Channel moved Bones and his show from Austin with its Top 40 format to Nashville and a country music format while taking The Bobby Bones Show nationwide. Bones took over the slot hosted by longtime DJ Gerry House, who retired in the year 2010.

Bobby Bones now broadcasts from the WSIX-FM studios in Nashville on weekday mornings from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. (CT). His co-hosts are Lunchbox and Amy and feature Producer Eddie, Raymundo, Morgan2, Mike D., Hillary, as well as Scuba Steve.

The Bobby Bones Show has become a regular interview stop for top country music stars as well as even artists/celebrities outside the genre of country. On May 17, in the year 2016, he released his first book entitled e Bones, I’m Not Lonely If You’re Reading This Book.
In the year 2018, Bones was a guest mentor for season sixteen of American Idol (the first to air on ABC) during the top 24 round. On November 6, 2018, it was declared that Bones would become a full-time mentor for the series beginning in season seventeen.

During an episode that aired on April 8, in the year 2019, Bones served as guest host, as host Ryan Seacrest was sick as well as missed the taping.

In June in the year 2019, Bones filmed an episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls in Norway. The episode aired on January 14, the year  2020. He was a judge of Topgolf’s original series which is named Who Will Rock You.

On September 28, in the year 2013, Bones, as well as his crew, were part of a team that set the Guinness World Record for Most hunger relief meals packaged in one hour (team).


Personal life

On August 5, in the year 2015, during the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump. Bobby Bones filed an all-purpose trademark application with the United States Patent as well as Trademark Office for the rights to the phrase named Make America Great Again.

Trump had registered the phrase for political action committee services but not for its use on hats, t-shirts, duffel bags, as well as other apparel and accessories that Bobby Bones now had the rights to. Awards and honors

For four years running, from the year 2004 to the year 2008, Bobby Bones was named the Best Radio Personality. By the Austin Music Awards, presented by The Austin Chronicle as well as SXSW. The Bobby Bones Show also won Best Radio Program of the year  2007–2008.

On April 6, in the year 2014, Bones, Amy, and Lunchbox won their first Academy of Country Music Award for National On-Air Personality of the Year, just nine months into Bones’s first year in country music.

Bones also became the youngest ever inductee into the National Radio Hall of Fame while a ceremony on November 2, in the year  2017, at the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago.
